ALBION boss Chris Hughton has given no reassurances about Anthony Knockaert's future following his latest red card.
Hughton has spoken to Knockaert about his rush of blood against Bournemouth but said he cannot afford to be thinking about the Frenchman.
Knockaert was sent-off for a reckless tackle on Adam Smith when the Seagulls were 2-0 down in their 5-0 home defeat on Saturday.
The winger, also dismissed at Everton last season for a jump tackle, is suspended for tonight's showdown against relegation rivals Cardiff at the Amex, Saturday's trip to Wolves and the visit to Spurs three days later as the Seagulls fight for their Premier League lives.
He is not available again until Newcastle visit at the end of the month for the penultimate home game.
Hughton, asked what happens next with Knockaert, said: "I can tell you in all honesty Anthony has put himself in the position where he has made a mistake.
"At this moment I can’t afford to be thinking about Anthony. We will miss him for the next three games. He will train as hard as he always trains and then when he is available then it’s time to think about any inclusion in that particular squad.
"But he has made a mistake as other players have done in the past, and we’ve had other players sent off this season, and unfortunately for him and for us he has to suffer the consequences."
Fit-again Solly March is expected to replace Knockaert and Albion could have the influential Pascal Gross back for the first time in seven weeks after a hamstring injury.
Cardiff chief Neil Warnock will choose between two former Albion targets to lead their forward line.
Dane Kenneth Zohore was preferred for the 2-0 defeat at Burnley over Oumar Niasse, who is yet to score since signing on loan from Everton in January.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is also under consideration to start if Warnock decides to freshen up his attack.
