Tony Bloom wants Albion to serve up a day to rival promotion.

The Seagulls chairman was first on stage at Wembley Boxpark ahead of today’s semi-final against Manchester City.

Asked where victory over Pep Guardiola’s quadruple-chasers would rate, Bloom told fans: “Promotion to the Premier League was right up there but hopefully we can get a victory today which would rank as high.”

Bloom revealed he missed the 1983 semi-final win over Sheffield Wednesday due to a family holiday.

But he has fond memories of the first final against Manchester United.

Albion were held 2-2 but lost the replay.

He joked: “I call that one a draw.”
