DALE STEPHENS says Albion must pose an attacking threat to Manchester City.
Even if it is only once in a while.
The midfielder is braced for a big test of discipline and organisation as the Seagulls aim for an FA Cup semi-final shock.
But he says sitting back alone will not be enough on the big day.
Albion have lost three out of three to City in the Premier League but never by more than a two-goal margin.
Stephens said: “We have usually been quite good at soaking up a lot of pressure and hitting teams on the counter attack.
“I will be happy to see something similar this weekend.
“You can do it for long spells but you have got to carry your own threat and have a release somewhere.
“We take a bit of confidence from the times we have played them.
“A little more concentration and a bit more of a threat from ourselves and maybe we will get something.”
City are the only survivors from among the Premier League top six on semi-final weekend.
They will start as massive favourites to go through but Stephens says Albion expect a lot of themselves.
He added: “Pressure comes from within. We take confidence from what has happened in the cup competition up to now.
“There is no reason why we can’t get a result.”
