ALBION are delighted Holland took no risks with Davy Propper.
The midfielder returned to Sussex yesterday after being left out of his nation’s 3-2 defeat by Germany.
Propper went on as a half-time substitute as the Netherlands eased past Belarus 4-0 on Thursday.
Chris Hughton has played down any concerns about him missing the return to Premier League action at home to Southampton on Saturday.
But he is less optimistic about Pascal Gross and Florin Andone.
The Albion boss said: “Davy is fine. I think what happened is he played in the first game, was a little bit stiff afterwards and they have got a good squad of players there.
“The feeling was to take no risks with him, which we are delighted about.”
Gross has been out with a hamstring problem sustained when setting up a chance at Leicester four weeks ago.
And Andone suffered a groin problem in the warm-up before the win at Crystal Palace.
Neither have yet rejoined full training with the squad and will have to put that right tomorrow if they are to have a chance of facing Saints.
For now, Hughton sees them as outside bets to make the six-pointer.
He said: “Thursday will be a big day.
“Florin at this moment has more chance than Pascal but they would have to train with the team on Thursday to have any chance of being involved on Saturday.
“With Pascal, we were always hopeful he might be available for the Southampton game.
“The type of injury that he had, although he has had no problems with it, was still significant enough that it has taken this period of time.”
