Albion have recalled Ecuadorian winger Billy Arce from his loan at Spanish outfit Extremadura.
Top Ecuador outfit Emelec are claiming to have signed the 20-year-old.
Arce, who signed from Ecuadorian side CSD Independiente Del Valle last summer, started a cup tie at Alcorcon early in the season and came of the bench three times in the league for the second division strugglers.
His signature is sought after in Ecuador. The Argus understands talks are ongoing as to what will be his next port of call.
On-loan Steven Alzate has returned to Albion from Swindon Town after suffering a lower back injury.
Meanwhile, Albion under-23s boss Simon Rusk has backed Josh Kerr’s loan move as the 20-uyear-old defender gets down to work with Derry City.
Kerr, 20, is on board with the SSE Airtricity League side for the rest of the season.
Rusk said, “This is a good loan move for Josh, and one that will allow him to play first-team football on a regular basis.”
