Jurgen Locadia relished a “crazy“ week – after ending 2018 on a high.
The Dutch forward scored for the second successive home match as Albion beat Everton 1-0.
Locadia followed his equaliser against Arsenal by scoring from a corner on 60 minutes.
The two goals this week have capped a remarkable turnaround in his fortunes.
Asked about his week, Locadia said: “Crazy! From not playing every game to starting and scoring in two games. I’m very happy and proud of the team also.
“I want to thank everybody.”
Everton initially hoped the goal would be ruled out for offside.
But referee Andy Madley checked with an assistant that the ball had fallen to Locadia off an Everton player.
Asked whether he feared the goal would be chalked off, Locadia said: “In the first few seconds, but I saw the ball being deflected by a player from Everton so in my opinion it was a clear goal. But you never know.”
Locadia said Albion were worthy winners.
He added: “I think we started well as a team and created good chances.
“We tried to start the second half well also and I thought we took control.
“Everton created chances in the second half also and (David) Button saved us a couple of times.
“But I think we deserved the win.”
