Shane Duffy is celebrating his first Premier League goal for Albion and first at the Amex.
The Republic of Ireland central defender doubled the lead against Manchester United at the second attempt from a Pascal Gross corner.
Duffy's previous goal was at Brentford in the Championship 18 months ago and he had never scored before at home.
"It was a great moment," he told The Argus. "I'm happy it has come early in the season so it doesn't play in my head a little bit. And finally I've scored here, so I'm delighted with that.
"I thought I should have had the first one anyway. It just got a nick off (Paul) Pogba, Anthony (Knockaert) scuffed it back to me and I took a touch and just lashed it.
"It was a great feeling scoring in front of the North Stand, a good moment in my career."
Duffy lost regular partner Lewis Dunk to injury after 20 minutes. Summer signing Leon Balogun (below) stepped in seamlessly, although the Nigerian World Cup and former Mainz stopper blamed himself for Romelu Lukaku halving United's arrears from a header when a corner was not properly cleared.
Balogun said: "The biggest challenge was to adapt to a different style of play. I came in quite late (from the World Cup).
"I was on him (Lukaku) and then I wasn't on him, so he scores, my fault.
"Maybe I am used to a different kind of defending still. Of course it's man to man but maybe I was expecting someone to support me.
"I think the ball got deflected and I was anticipating a different situation but I have to be with him, simple, full stop, no excuse."
