Luke Wright is being lined-up for another big-hitting role when Sussex start their Pro40 League campaign.
The 22-year-old is expected to bat at No. 3 when the Sharks face Worcestershire Royals on Sunday, the same position he has been so successful in during the Twenty20 Cup.
Wright scored 343 runs to help Sussex reach the Twenty20 finals and earned himself a place in England's provisional squad for September's World Cup.
Coach Mark Robinson has hinted he will stay there while Murray Goodwin could be asked to reprise his Twenty20 role at the top of the order.
Robinson said: "We will be looking to take essences of the Friends Provident Trophy and Twenty20 into our Pro40 campaign.
"We have got one or two specific plans which we are keeping secret but we promoted Luke up the order in both competitions and it worked so I can envisage us doing that again."
Sunday's game has been switched to Edgbaston from flood-hit New Road which will give Sussex experience of conditions they might expect at the Twenty20 finals.
