Former Albion defender Steve Piper has died. He was 64.
He had been battling illness.
Brighton-born Piper came through the youth ranks at the Seagulls alongside fellow local boy Tony Towner.
He played 160 times for Albion in the 1970s, plus twice off the bench, and scored nine goals before moving on to Portsmouth.
