BRUNO has targeted an “unbelievable” points tally after ten games in the Premier League for Albion to celebrate his 200th appearance for the club.

The veteran Spanish defender leads the Seagulls into battle again against Southampton at the Amex on Sunday (1.30pm), intent on maintaining the standards set in the early part of the season.

Albion are comfortably placed in 12th, with 11 points from their opening nine games, after winning 3-0 at West Ham a week ago.

Bruno said: “Our aim is to be really strong at home – that’s what we want and have to achieve. But we know we aren’t always going to win at home.

“It’s going to be a big game, because to get to 14 points would be unbelievable for us.”

Bruno conceded a late penalty in the last home game, a 1-1 draw with Everton.

The right-back retains a good feeling about Albion’s prospects for the rest of the season - as long as they keep treating every game like a cup final.

He said: “Sometimes it’s about points, sometimes it’s about feelings. The feelings have been good. We’ve been competing every single game and that’s really important.

“Sometimes you can have too much respect for the Premier League, and of course we have shown respect, but we want to show to everyone how well we can play.

“For us, the way that we think is every game is like a cup final. We know where we came from and we know where we want to go.

“We can’t lose that and we must keep doing the same things.”

Bruno has played 199 games in all competitions for Albion since joining them on a free transfer from Valencia in June 2012.

The super-fit 37-year-old has missed only five of the last 101 matches in the Premier League and Championship.

Boss Chris Hughton has a decision to make at left-back against Saints.

Summer signing Markus Suttner has started all four home games, Gaetan Bong the last two away since recovering from injury.
