Albion keeper Mathew Ryan has saluted the twin barrier protecting him from Premier League attacks.
Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy have been towering influences in the centre of defence.
Duffy’s desire to try to preserve a second successive shut-out led to the Irishman attempting a goal-line block with his hand when James Morrison struck West Brom’s consolation goal in their 3-1 defeat at the Amex.
Australian international Ryan said: “That’s an example of someone who wants to keep a clean sheet just as much as I do and will do absolutely everything.
“That will and dedication to keep it clean, they’re always on about it in the lead up to every game and during the game. ‘Let’s keep a clean sheet’.
“I’m just loving playing behind them. They are two big lads dealing with all the high balls. They throw themselves around and leave nothing out on the pitch.
“It’s an absolute pleasure playing behind them. I’m getting used to them and understanding their style of play.
“It’s a bit of a process, but we’re taking baby steps forward all the time.”
Albion attempt to prevent Jermain Defoe and pointless Bournemouth’s other strikers from opening their account in Friday’s clash at the Vitality Stadium (8pm).
The Cherries’ only Premier League goal so far was a thunderous strike from left-back Charlie Daniels in the last-gasp home defeat by Manchester City.
Ryan said: “It’s important to get the first win out of the way. Bournemouth are struggling, but so were we. It probably takes one victory for a team to not be struggling again.
“Touch wood it doesn’t happen. We are going to go there for the three points.”
