Tomer Hemed is set to miss Israel’s World Cup qualifier in Italy tonight.
But his absence is believed to be precautionary and due to a minor issue.
Hemed is likely to be Albion’s only fit and available senior striker when they return to Premier League action against West Brom on Saturday.
It is understood Albion have been in contact with Hemed and are not overly concerned by his condition as they plan to take on the Baggies.
Israel’s realistic hopes of a play-off spot probably vanished when they lost at home to Macedonia on Saturday in a match which saw Hemed go on as a half-time substitute.
Israeli sources are reporting the problem to be a thigh strain.
