Albion have made a seven-figure bid for Cardiff's Danish striker Kenneth Zohore.
The Seagulls' interest in Zohore is ongoing and The Argus understands he is on a list of striker targets of similar calibre.
Also on the list is Everton's Oumar Niasse (above).
Contrary to reports, Albion's bid for Zohore does not involve Tomer Hemed as a makeweight in the deal.
The Seagulls have rejected two fresh offers for the Israeli international forward, one from Reading and another from another Championship club.
Albion have been keeping tabs on Zohore, 23, for some time.
Boss Chris Hughton watched him in action against Sheffield United on Tuesday night.
The 6ft 3ins Zohore has thrived under Neil Warnock's management at Cardiff since joining the Welshmen from little-known Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
Born in Copenhagen of Ivorian descent, the former Danish under-21 international's dad is the second cousin of Didier Drogba.
