Albion will be presented with the Championship trophy at Aston Villa on Sunday if they win their final game.
The Football League has revealed to The Argus plans for the champions to be crowned either at Villa Park or at St James' Park if Newcastle pip the Seagulls to the title.
Albion need to equal Newcastle's result at home to Barnsley in the noon kick-offs to finish top.
An EFL spokesman said: "Full trophy presentations have been arranged to cover all available scenarios that could lead to either Brighton & Hove Albion or Newcastle United being crowned champions of the Sky Bet Championship.
"The Sky Bet Championship trophy will be presented to the eventual winners of the division immediately after the conclusion of this Sunday’s fixtures, either at Villa Park or St James' Park."
