Saskia Clark and Hannah Mills have won 470 Women’s gold.
Chichester University graduate Clark and helm Mills claimed Britain’s third sailing medal of Rio 2016 .
With a 20-point advantage over their nearest challengers, Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, (New Zealand), the Brits just had to successfully complete today’s double points Medal Race without disqualification or retiring.
And an eighth in the race, which was won by Tina Mrak and Veronik Macarol, confirmed the 470 Girls’ upgraded their London 2012 silver to Rio 2016 gold.
Clark, who celebrates her 37th birthday on Tuesday, is competing at her third Games having finished sixth at Beijing 2008 with Christina Bassadone.
Aleh and Powrie locked down silver.
