Kazenga KuaLua has hit back at critics who claim he is injury-prone – and targeted a “massive” season for Albion.

The popular winger set up the first two goals in a 90-minute outing against Colchester on Tuesday.

He accepts he is second in line for the left-flank berth after a season plagued by injury.

But he has told fans he is fit, raring to go – and fully intent on silencing a few doubters.

LuaLua told The Argus: “I need to have a good season and hopefully I will get my chance because I am so desperate to try and show people.

“I was reading on the internet and some fans said ‘Kaz is always injured’ and this and that.

“Being injured is part of football. You can’t help that.

“But now I’m fit again and I’m desperate to show people what I can do.

“I’m still the same Kaz who has been here for many, many years.

“It’s not like I’m a different player but the only way to show it is if you get a chance.”

In The Argus today, LuaLua opens up about the torment of a persistent groin problem which flared up just as he was enjoying the best month of his career.

The 25–year-old said: “This now is a massive season for me. I’m at an age where you have got to play as much football as you can.

“You see the people ahead of you. It is not easy for you to play but let’s see how it goes.”

Two more Albion games have been rescheduled due to live television coverage – and they include another Friday night date at the Amex.

The Seagulls’ visit from Tommy Elphick and Aston Villa has been brought forward a day to Friday, November 18 (7.45pm).

Meanwhile the trip to Bristol City on Saturday, November 5, has been pushed back from 3pm to 5.30pm.
