Elvis Manu still has a future with Albion.
Manager Chris Hughton insists the door is not closed on the errant Dutch attacker.
Manu, on loan at Huddersfield, was disciplined and fined by the Yorkshiremen last week after previously criticising Albion in an interview in the Dutch media.
Hughton told The Argus: “We were very much aware of it all. I think every player still has a future. They always have to bounce back from difficult times or things they have done wrong, try to improve their game.
“When we took Elvis he was on the back of a good season at Feyenoord, who are of course a top club in Holland, and sometimes it takes a little bit longer for some to adjust, to a different formation, a different mentality.”
Manu, months into a three-year contract, has yet to make a Championship start for Albion or Huddersfield.
Hughton said: “There would be numerous examples of players whose first periods at new clubs didn’t go so well and they ended up having good careers there.
“So absolutely no, the door is not closed. He has got to very much use this season as an experience.”
