Inigo Calderon is in line for another call as emergency left-back – against the current leaders.
Chris Hughton believes the versatile defender could be needed to bridge the gap between Liam Ridgewell leaving and a more specialist left-back returning from injury.
Ridgewell is still scheduled to return to Portland Timbers after the home game with Bolton a week on Saturday.
Gaetan Bong and Liam Rosenior are back in rehab after injury absences but are not yet in full training.
That leaves Inigo Calderon in line to fill in away to current Championship pacesetters Hull City on February 16.
Hughton told The Argus: “We know Liam Ridgewell’s last game is the Bolton game.
“We then go to Hull in midweek and Cardiff on the Saturday.
"Gaetan and Liam will be quite close. I think they will be fairly close to coming into the game on the Saturday.
“We won’t be too far away and we still have Calde who has come in and performed well for us in that position.
“Left-back is not one we are overly concerned about but there might just be that little gap.”
