Dean Wilkins today revealed Albion's out-of-contract players are still in the dark as to whether they will be kept on next season.

But the Seagulls boss hopes to begin discussions in the days after Saturday's season-closing trip to Cheltenham.

Fifteen players, including mainstays like Guy Butters and Alexis Bertin, plus long-serving Gary Hart and Michel Kuipers and the injured Paul Reid, Charlie Oatway and Adam Hinshelwood, are coming to the end of contracts.

Wilkins said: "Their future is being discussed internally but it has not been discussed with any players as yet.

"Probably that will now get done next week."

Albion have delayed naming a Reserve side for tonight's home game with Bournemouth (7pm), in which a win would give them the divisional title in the Pontin's Holidays Combination.

The Seagulls could be considering naming some of their normal second string members in the side to face Cheltenham, a game in which Wilkins wants to end the League One season with a flourish.

He said: "There are a few things we are thinking of.

"I think it's important we finish with a win but this will also be an opportunity to look at one or two other things.

"We need a lot more than people to be cruising through the last game. We need to finish in a bit of style."
