Albion boss Dean Wilkins has played down a blazing row between teenage midfielder Tommy Fraser and assistant manager Dean White.

The pair clashed in the middle of the pitch following Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

Fraser was a non-playing member of the squad after starting the previous game at home to Bradford City.

He had a heated bust-up with White during the warm-down at the end of the match and had to be ushered away by team-mate Joe Gatting.

Fraser stormed off and booted a drinks bottle which was lying on the pitch on his way back to the changing room.

Wilkins was only yards away but did not witness the incident, because he was in the middle of a radio interview.

He said: "It was a young player with a real passion to do well showing slight immaturity towards the disappointment of being left out of the squad for the game.

"Some of are young players have been experiencing certain situations for the first time and it is all part of the learning process. We spoke on the way home and that is the end of it."

Meanwhile, striker Bas Savage is expected to miss the last two matches of the season at home to play-off contenders Oldham on Saturday and away to fellow strugglers Cheltenham after limping off early on with medial knee ligament damage.

Wilkins said: "We are not sure of the severity. I've had an injury like that myself before and he certainly looked in trouble. Once he went back onto the pitch and tried to change direction you could see it was never going to happen for him."
