Albion today hope for a double boost as they plot to pull off a rare home win.

The Seagulls want to see Kerry Mayo and Alex Frutos come through a reserve game unscathed as they weigh up their options for Saturday's visit of Bradford City.

Mayo and Frutos have both been suffering with calf injuries but will start in midfield for the Seagulls' title-chasing second string as they visit Aldershot this afternoon (2pm).

Alexis Bertin (groin) is back in training but has yet to be joined by Adam El-Abd, who took a knee in the back during the unfortunate defeat at Tranmere on Monday.

Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins will watch the reserve game and said: "We're having to take the injury situation day by day.

"Hopefully we'll have several players back by Saturday but let's see who comes through the reserve game without any reaction."

Bradford are four points adrift of safety in League One and will be targeting victory at Withdean.

But Wilkins is convinced his side can match that desire as they chase only a sixth home League win of the season.

Asked if his team could match Bradford's desire for the points, he said: "We have to. We have a responsibility to ourselves and to our supporters to get a home win.

"If we perform like we did in the first half at Tranmere that is likely to happen.

"It wasn't just the first 45 minutes. There were some good things in the second half as well.

"But in the first 45 we should have been at least two goals up."
