Albion's hopes of landing Finland international goalkeeper Niki Mäenpää are hanging in the balance.
Mäenpää’s representative, Richinel Bryson, has revealed in an exclusive interview with The Argus:
- The move could be affected by uncertainty over the future of goalkeeping coach Antti Niemi.
- The 50-50 chance of it happening.
- Albion face competition from other English clubs as well as Dutch.
- His preferred choice is a switch to England.
Albion have targeted departing VVV-Venlo keeper Mäenpää as competition for No.1 David Stockdale, which would allow them to loan out England under-20s prospect Christian Walton next season.
The Finn will be involved in promotion play-offs on Monday and Friday next week after Venlo beat Nijmegen 3-1 last night.
