Craig Mackail-Smith says Albion must not panic as they try to come from behind in the play-offs against Derby County.
The striker insists there is plenty of time at the iPro Stadium tomorrow to repair the damage inflicted by Thursday’s 2-1 defeat in the first leg.
Mackail-Smith told The Argus: “The most important thing is getting a good start and not panicking because we are a goal down.
“We could panic and then leave ourselves trying to catch up one or two goals, so I think we have just got to be patient.
“If we get one it goes to extra-time, so there’s no worry about going all out straight away.”
Mackail-Smith has warned Albion could be picked off again by the counter-raiding Rams, as they were at the Amex, if they chase the game too early.
He said: “They were great on the counter-attack. They went with pace and lots of players. You could see why they scored so many goals in the league and why they came third in the table.
“They are dangerous and we have to be aware of that but defensively we have been fantastic this season.
“I thought we dealt with it pretty well and again on Sunday I think we’ll do the same, then it’s down to the boys at the front to get the goals."
