STEPHEN Ward says Albion have missed Craig Conway and hopes he does not come back to haunt them at Blackburn tonight.
Left-back Ward and left-winger Conway forged a good partnership during the latter’s 93-day loan from Cardiff earlier in the season.
The Seagulls wanted Conway back on loan in January but the 28-year-old Scotland international joined Blackburn in a permanent deal on a two-and-a-half year contract at the end of the transfer window.
He faces his former team-mates in good form, with three goals in his last ten games, including two in the last four.
Ward said: “He’s a great player for them and he was great when he was here. I really enjoyed playing behind him. He gives everything for the team, so we know what he will give to them.
“He’ll try to get crosses in and take people on. He’s one of those wingers who does his defensive duties as well so he is an all-round good winger, a great lad as well and one that we really missed when he left here.
“He was somebody all the lads had a lot of time for. He put a real shift in and that is something you need in the modern day.
“I am sure Blackburn are reaping the benefits. I just hope tonight he is not at the top of his game.”
