Stephen Ward says Albion should be proud of their defensive record, despite recent mishaps.
The Seagulls' record of 33 goals conceded is still the joint meanest in the Championship with Burnley and QPR.
Five of them have been leaked in soft fashion during a run of three straight defeats.
Left-back Ward said: "You are not going to keep clean sheets every week. It's difficult to keep clean sheets in this league so the record we've had is something we should be really proud of.
"Obviously we're disappointed with the goals we've conceded recently but we know it's going to happen. It's impossible not to concede chances in games.
"Unfortunately at the moment I think every chance we are conceding is going into the back of our net. Other teams seem to be taking their chances."
Albion look to launch a form revival at Blackburn tomorrow night.
Ward said: "Not only is it the next game but it's also our game in hand, one we've spoken about for a long time. If we go there and get a result we're right back in the hunt."
