Swedish star Freddie Lindgren has proved he is in great nick for opening night at Arlington.
The Grand Prix racer took top spot in the Selco Classic at Birmingham last night.
Lindgren fought off a stern challenge in the final from Peter Kildemand, the only man to beat him in the heats.
Kildemand fell as he tussled for the lead, allowing East Sussex boy Edward Kennett through for third place on his new home track behind Ryan Fisher.
Lindgren, who will not feature in the Elite League this season, is among the star attractions at Joonas Kylmakaorpi’s Testimonial at Eastbourne on Saturday (7.30pm).
Another, Chris Harris, suffered mechanical gremlins at Perry Barr and tallied just five points.
Harrris will be desperate to improve on that when he takes part in Kylmakorpi’s special night.
