Will Buckley scored twice to send Albion soaring to victory at Bolton today.
The winger was on target in each half to secure a 2-0 win at the Reebok.
Victory – and a 17th clean sheet of the season – came in the rare absence of defensive kingpin Matt Upson, who is ill.
But Lewis Dunk turned in another impressive display at the back as the Seagulls enhanced their play-off chances.
Buckley, who had a trial with Bolton as a teenager, had only previously scored one goal this season – against the Trotters at the Amex in September.
He produced a smart finish on 13 minutes after his initial effort had been brilliantly saved by Adam Bogdan.
Albion had to withstand pressure after that.
Tomasz Kuszczak saved well from Alex Baptiste’s curler and Medo’s free-kick clipped the bar before half-time.
Then, in the second period, Joe Mason fired inches wide before seeing a close-range finish ruled out for offside.
But Albion put together a neat move involving Bruno and Jake Forster-Caskey, who released Buckley to coolly finish a one-on-one.
