Will Buckley is ready for a more prominent role in Albion’s push for the play-offs.

The right-winger will make his 100th appearance for the club at Bolton today following his first Championship start of the year in Tuesday’s 2-0 home win against Queens Park Rangers.

Buckley, plagued by hamstring problems, is poised to start again at the Reebok as Albion try to end Bolton’s five-match unbeaten run.

He was a target for Wanderers earlier in his career and scored against them – his only goal in 11 months – in the Seagulls’ 3-1 victory at the Amex in September.

Head coach Oscar Garcia said: “He is an important player for us. I am happy to have him back. He can help us a lot.

“We want to have him fit enough to play all the games from now until the end of the season.”

Captain Gordon Greer, suspended from the win over Rangers, is likely to return to the centre of defence at the expense of Lewis Dunk.

Oscar said: “I have to look at the performance during the whole season, not only in one game.

“What I want is what Dunky did. He came in and did really well. That’s what I expect from all my players.”
