Albion boss Oscar Garcia believes Will Hoskins can help the play-off push.
But tomorrow's trip to Bolton Wanderers may come too soon for the fit-again striker to make the matchday squad.
Hoskins played a full game in the development team on Monday after a year out with knee damage.
Oscar said: "He has only played one game for 90 minutes. He played some games but less minutes and we are now in an important period but hopefully he can be helpful from now until the end of the season. I know he is a good player."
Craig Mackail-Smith is not back in full training yet with the first team after a groin injury delayed his recovery from long-term Achilles and ankle injuries.
Oscar said: "He's not taking part with us. He's training with the physios and we have to wait."
