Rohan Ince has been passed fit for action for Albion this afternoon.
But Dale Stephens misses out with a foot injury as the Seagulls host Reading in a play-off six-pointer.
Ince has recovered well in recent days from an ankle problem that ruled him out at Millwall last Saturday and prevented him from training early in the week.
He comes into midfield along wth Jake Forster-Caskey in place of the injured Stephens and Andrea Orlandi, who has a thigh problem.
Jesse Lingard makes his home debut in attack.
Stephen Ward has been passed fit after suffering a dead leg in action for the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday.
The Seagulls are looking to overhaul Reading today in the battle to close in on the top six.
Wigan, who are currently sixth, lead the Royals by one point and the Seagulls by three.
The Latics are in FA Cup action this weekend.
Albion: Kuszczak; Bruno, Greer, Upson, Ward; Andrews, Ince, Forster-Caskey; David Lopez, Lingard, Ulloa. Subs: Ankergren, Dunk, Calderon, Buckley, March, LuaLua.
