Bruno has set his sights on securing a new deal with Albion.

But the in-form right-back says he understands why he must wait until May to learn his future.

The Spanish star wants to help the Seagulls into the play-offs for a second successive season.

He has the extra incentive of trying to clinch a new contract.

Chief executive Paul Barber recently told The Argus contract talks were on hold which would allow players to concentrate on the run-in.

Bruno, whose two-year deal expires this summer, said: “I’m out of contract and I imagine they (Albion) have their ideas. No one has been in contact with me yet but that is football.

“I want to stay here because I love it here. It feels like home.

“But they take the decision to wait until the last minute and that is a way of working.”

Bruno admitted it was unlikely out-of-contract stars would be able to put concerns about their future completely out of their minds.

He added: “Players think about their futures, of course. We’re people.

“In two-and-a-half months the league ends and we worry about where we will be, of course.

“But the club have the say as to whether we will stay or not and we respect that.”
