Gordon Greer reckons he is getting better with age as Albion skipper.

He hopes to show that for Scotland tonight after being picked to make his third cap.

Greer starts against Poland in a friendly in Warsaw.

The Poles play 4-1-4-1 and their attack is led by Arkadiusz Milik, who plays in Germany for Augsburg on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

Greer believes his work with Oscar Garcia and the Seagulls has kept him in great shape for international action.

He said: “As a defender you get better as you get older because your positional sense gets better.

“I’ve kept myself as fit as I can and I’m really enjoying playing football for Brighton.

“We’ve got a style of play that suits me.

“I feel very settled down there. I enjoy the style of football we play and the manager is great with me.”

Greer reckons tonight’s game, being streamed live at dailyrecord.co.uk, has been given extra edge by the Euro 2016 qualifying draw.

Scotland and Poland will be in the same group as they chase a place in the European finals in France.

Greer said: “Even though it’s a friendly, it’s never friendly. I want to win the game.

“We have got a really important campaign coming up and it will be really interesting to be out there.”

The Republic of Ireland are in the same qualifying group.

On-loan Albion left-back Stephen Ward starts their friendly against Serbia tonight.

Jesse Lingard and Christian Walton were named among the subs for England’s under-21s and under-19s respectively.
