Defender Paul Connolly has dismissed talk of Crawley mounting a play-off challenge as “stupid”.
A run of six games unbeaten in League One has raised hopes of a late push for the top six with Reds aiming to close the gap further with victory over Stevenage at the Checkatrade.com Stadium tonight.
Connolly said: “People have mentioned the play-offs but that is silly as we are nowhere near at the moment.
“It is easy to say we could win our next five games but it would be better if we just focussed on getting as many points on the board and then assessing things.
“Once we get level on games with everyone else then the picture will look a lot clearer but to talk of the play-offs now is a bit stupid.”
