Albion have signed loan target Jon Obika at last – and he could make his debut on Saturday.
The 23-year-old striker arrives at The Amex on what the Seagulls have now confirmed is a 93-day deal from Tottenham.
He is available for the visit of Birmingham City on Saturday.
Head coach Oscar Garcia has stressed Obika has joined to work alongside existing strikers Leo Ulloa and Ashley Barnes.
Oscar said: “Our target was to bring an extra striker into the squad, alongside Leo and Ash, and as cover for Craig (Mackail-Smith) and Will (Hoskins) as they continue their respective comebacks from their injuries.”
Albion's interest in Obika was first reported by The Argus four months ago but he was sidelined by injury for a period before Christmas.
He scored a total of 17 goals in his four loan stints with Yeovil, where he worked with current Albion assistant head coach Nathan Jones.
Oscar added: “Jonathan is someone we have been aware of for some time – because Nathan has worked closely with him in the past at Yeovil and Charlton.
“It is known that we tried to bring him earlier in the season, but were not able to due to an injury, so we are pleased to have him here now.”
Obika proved he is good touch by scoring six goals for Spurs under-21s in a 10-6 friendly win over Charlton this week.
