Nathan Jones has called for realism as Albion prepare to face high-flying Nottingham Forest at The Amex tomorrow night without several first team regulars.

Six players are missing through injury, the majority of them key figures, and others are carrying knocks.

Leo Ulloa, Liam Bridcutt, Andrea Orlandi, Kemy Agustien, Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins are all sidelined for varying periods, while Andrew Crofts (hip) and Kazenga LuaLua (knee) are being nursed.

Assistant head coach Jones told The Argus: "These are not run-of-the-mill players, these are top Championship signings, players that will play in our team and will make an impact and win games for Brighton.

"We've not had one or two missing, we've had seven missing at a time. Yes, we would all like to win every game, but when we haven't been able to have any contiunity there has to be an element of realism.

"Let's be realistic. If we had our full side together and, given the time to work with them, Brighton have a fantastic side capable of doing fantastically well in this league.

"At the moment we haven't been able to put out the same side twice really and that's frustrating, because these are key players to us.

"It's inexplicable really. We knew Mackail-Smith and Hoskins were injured, but we thought Macca would be back in September and that's been put on hold now.

"If Chelsea had seven first team starters out and key ones they would struggle, so would Man United or Barcelona. We know the problems we have. We have to face them, come through it and stay together so that when we do get everyone back we have a launchpad to kick on."
