Gus Poyet faces a further wait to find out whether he gets the thumbs-up from Sunderland.
The Black Cats today confirmed Hastings-born Kevin Ball will remain in temporary charge for this weekend's game against Manchester United at the Stadium of Light.
Poyet, sacked by Albion in the summer for gross misconduct, is still hot favourite with bookmakers to succeed the sacked Paolo Di Canio as Sunderland manager.
