Oscar Garcia admitted two-goal David McGoldrick was the difference at Ipswich today.
But he felt Albion’s 2-0 defeat at Portman Road would have been a different story had Andrew Crofts taken an early chance.
Crofts shot wide from close range before McGoldrick took centre stage with two goals.
Oscar said: “Obviously if we had scored from that chance the game would have been different.
“But we didn’t do it and McGoldrick for me was the difference between one team and the other.
“We conceded maybe three chances playing away and they scored two goals.
“We had two or three chances also and we didn’t score.
“That is why this player (McGoldrick) was the difference.”
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy admitted McGoldrick had a slice of luck with his heavily deflected opener.
But Oscar said: “When you have in your team a player like McGoldrick these things can happen. For me he’s a player from another level."
