Boss Richie Barker has hit back at suggestions Crawley Town have under-achieved in their last two games.

Reds welcome Oldham Athletic today bidding to stretch a four-match unbeaten run which has cemented their place in the top ten of League One.

Despite their impressive run of form Barker can sense a level of dissatisfaction among supporters, particularly following consecutive 1-1 draws against Shrewsbury and Colchester.

Barker said: “I had a woman come up to me in the gym the other day and complain that our game against Shrewsbury was boring.

“I couldn’t believe it. We’ve scored in every game we’ve played this season and must be one of the most entertaining teams in the division but it’s still not enough for some people.

“I think we’ve only had two goalless draws in something like 70 games since I took over. You get the feeling you are banging your head against a brick wall sometimes.

“Look at teams like Colchester and Stevenage, which are similar size to us, and look at where they are in the table and how many goals they’ve scored.

“If we played like we did against Peterborough (won 2-0) week in week out then the players wouldn’t be at Crawley Town, they would be at a club like Peterborough instead.

“People are looking for Utopia but they won’t find it at Crawley Town in League One I’m afraid.”
