Albion are still on the lookout for a loan striker.
One of their targets, Tottenham's Jonathan Obika, has been sidelined by a recurrence of ankle trouble and did not feature in a development team friendly behind closed doors against the Seagulls earlier this week.
Albion assistant head coach Nathan Jones said today: "We are still working hard. We have targets. At the minute things haven't quite been there. We'd like to add a little bit of difference to our squad, something that maybe we haven't got. We are endeavouring to do that.
"We've got some good players here, some good young players as well that can fit into our squad, so it's not a massive urgency, but we are always looking to improve.
"We are endeavouring, I can assure people of that, and then when the time is right we will add."
Struggling Sheffield Wednesday, who visit The Amex on Tuesday, today signed striker Matty Fryatt on a month's loan from Premier League newcomers Hull City.
