Former Albion boss Gus Poyet has emerged as the top contender for the Sunderland vacancy, according to reports.
The Mirror and The Independent claim the Premier League strugglers identified Poyet as their leading candidate to replace the sacked Paolo Di Canio at a meeting last night.
Poyet was axed by Albion in June for gross misconduct.
