Ghana stand between Albion defender Adam El-Abd and a chance to play at next year's World Cup finals.
The Ghanaians were paired with Egypt in today's draw for the final stage of qualifying for Brazil 2014 from the African zone.
The nations will meet over two legs with the winners going to the finals.
El-Abd has been on the fringes of the Pharaohs' first choice XI - and a regular in the squad - for more than a year now under coach Bob Bradley.
He started the recent group game against Guinea as stand-in for experienced Wael Gomaa, who was rested to avoid picking up a booking which would have ruled him out of the first leg of the play-off.
The ties will be played in October and November with Egypt at home in the second leg.
