Andrew Crofts has told red-carded Leo Ulloa he has no reason to say sorry to his team-mates.

Ulloa is facing a three-match ban after being dismissed for dangerous play at Reading yesterday.

The quietly-spoken striker shook hands with the man he fouled, Reading defender Alex Pearce, before leaving the pitch.

But Crofts, below, does not want or expect any apologies to the Seagulls squad.

The midfielder said: “Leo was disappointed but he didn’t need to say sorry because he has been on fire.

“He’s not a bad lad at all, there was no malice in it.

“He is an honest player, he went for the ball.

“We were disappointed to see a red because the form he has been showing has been top class.

“He will be disappointed to miss three games.”

Crofts felt Albion should have returned from the Madejski Stadium with three points.

He said: “Their keeper was man-of-the-match and I think that says a lot.

“The boys put in a really good performance. We are four unbeaten now – two wins, two draws – and I think the team is really starting to gel.”
