Burnley boss Sean Dyche reckons the dismissal of his goalkeeper changed the game at The Amex yesterday.
He was convinced Tom Heaton should have stayed on the pitch.
Dyche felt referee Darren Sheldrake was right to only show Heaton a yellow card for his foul on Will Buckley in the first half.
And he was mystified by the second yellow, given for Heaton catching the ball twice in his own penalty area.
Dyche said: “Brighton are a good side. They’ve got international players.
“They are a really experienced side so it’s a tough ask anyway.
“We gave them a terrible goal but I don’t remember Tom making too many big saves in the first half.
“In the second half we started quite nicely and I thought ‘Right that looks more like us’.
“Then there's a big decision and it changes the outcome."
