Mark Connolly has challenged Crawley to make history at Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight.

The Reds defender believes it would go down as the club's greatest ever victory if they could cause an upset against his former club in front of the Sky cameras at Molineux.

Crawley have beaten Championship clubs Hull City, Derby County, Millwall and Bolton Wanderers in cup competitions in recent years and famously won at Sheffield United in League One last season.

But Connolly, pictured below, says the fact Wolves were in the Premier League just two seasons ago means victory at Molineux would be an even bigger achievement.

Connolly said: “It is crazy to think the two teams are in the same division considering Wolves were in the Premier League only a couple of years ago and Crawley were in the Conference.

“It is going to be a massive test for us and in my opinion it would be the biggest result in Crawley’s history if we can win. Beating Sheffield United last year was massive but Wolves is a step up from because of the quality of the players they have available.

“The majority of the players there have played in the Premier League but we’ve got to forget about all that and just focus on our own game otherwise we’ll be beaten before we even step out on the pitch.”

Reds boss Richie Barker has urged his players to enjoy the experience of playing in front of a large crowd but has reminded them they still have a job to do.

Barker said: “You’ve got to enjoy games like this otherwise you are in the wrong job. It will be a great experience but we can’t go there as tourists because you don’t enjoy something when you don’t win.

“We know the size of the task that is facing us but we’ll give it a right good go. We proved last year that we could go to clubs like Wolves and win when we beat Sheffield United so we’ll be aiming to do something similar.

“One or two of their players are probably on more than my whole squad put together but that doesn’t mean anything. If we play the way we can and cut out the mistakes that have cost us in the last few games then we’ve definitely got a chance.”
