Crawley boss Richie Barker insists he will not compromise his footballing philosophy in pursuit of results.
Reds suffered their first defeat of the season in League One as they went down 2-1 against Rotherham United at Broadfield Stadium.
Crawley struggled to handle the direct approach favoured by former boss Steve Evans – who is now in charge of the Millers – despite taking the lead through Mat Sadler early on. Barker has transformed the way Crawley have played since taking over from Evans last year but admits the passing style he has introduced may not always get results.
The Reds boss said: “We saw two teams who play a totally different way and if we are going to play that way we have to accept sometimes it isn’t always going to work “As much as it is about winning it is about entertaining, surely, and I want people who come here to be entertained and watch people pass the ball about and express themselves. “I am not dissing the way Rotherham play. It is nothing to do with me.”
