Last time Albion fans saw him, Gus Poyet wore the downcast look of a man whose side had just been knocked out of the play-offs.
But the Seagulls manager was all smiles as he prepared to return to the spotlight – as part of the Chelsea side playing at the popular Barbados Legends tournament.
Poyet enjoyed a warm welcome to the Caribbean when he arrived with Watford boss and good mate Gianfranco Zola.
The former Stamford Bridge heroes were in great spirits as they arrived ahead of the event at the famous Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown.
Poyet remains under suspension at Albion but is being linked with the vacant manager’s post at Wigan Athletic.
In the meantime, he will look to turn on the old magic for star-studded Chelsea tomorrow and on Saturday.
Poyet was named player of the tournament in Barbados this time last year.
