Suspended Albion boss Gus Poyet has lost out to Bolton's Dougie Freedman for the Championship manager of the month award for April.
Bolton took 13 points in the month, one more than the unbeaten Seagulls, before narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
Former Albion midfielder Alan Curbishley, a member of the panel who made the decision, said: "It was a great month for Dougie which resulted in an end-of-season surge for his side, who only just missed out on a Play-Off Place."
