So what now for Albion and their boss Gus Poyet?

Was last night’s play-off defeat the end of an era? Or is fourth place in the Championship just the latest chapter of their success story?

Poyet suggested last night that he wanted assurances from chairman Tony Bloom over financial backing for another promotion push.

He said: “I’m going to ask if we’ve hit the roof and to that I need answers and then we’ll see.”

So has Poyet reached the end of the road with the Seagulls? And what about the squad he has built?
