The national weather service has issued seven weather warnings across the country.
Temperatures are not expected to exceed 2C today, meaning ice will have little time to thaw in the day before freezing again.
In Sussex, overnight temperatures will drop to as low as -2C. According to the Met Office, it will feel like -6C.
Motorists faced traffic chaos this morning as icy conditions caused accidents across the county.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Ice is likely to cause difficult driving conditions overnight into Wednesday morning."
People are told to expect some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
