Part of the A27 was closed following a crash involving three vehicles in icy conditions.
The crash happened last night at Hammerpot, west of Worthing, at around 9.30pm.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash and no one was injured.
Sussex Police closed the road to ensure the road was safe for other vehicles. It has since been reopened.
The A27 is closed both ways between Long Furlong and Offington Corner in Worthing due to the icy conditions.
It is unclear when it will reopen.
The closure caused severe delays for motorists this morning as people tried to divert through Clapham and Angmering.
Also on the A27, a driver died last night after crashing into a police car between Fontwell and Arundel.
The road remains closed while Sussex Police investigate.
Dozens of vehicles have crashed across the county today, many due to black ice on the roads.
Temperatures will hit freezing every night until Friday, according to the Met Office.
